Military Love

How's this for engagement photos? Marti and Jason drove down from Barstow for their engagement session last week. They both work on a military facility in Barstow. Jason comes from a big military family, Marti's dad works on the base and their wedding reception is going to be on the base as well. All this military stuff got me thinking about photos, so I thought, "What better place to take your bride-to-be than to an Army/Navy surplus store??!!!" They agreed and the rest is military engagement photo history. Special tanks (get it?) to the very cool store owner who let us get camouflage crazy during the shoot. We had lots of fun and still managed to make it to the beach for more "normal" engagement photos. Their guest book is going to be awesome.

Carol and Rick

Looking in the mirror, an hour before the ceremony.

Rick and Carol were married at the San Antonio Catholic Church in Anaheim Hills, followed by a reception at the Huntington Beach Hyatt.

Off to the reception! Looks like we have a winner for the cake topper contest! Continued...

Carol and Rick, continued...

Click to enlarge, notice the chocolate spoons! Not that I got excited or anything...

DJ Splice is in the house!

Ladies gone wild! Dancing on the chairs? Somebody stop them!!!

More Video!

More couples are including video in their wedding plans. The old stereotype of the "cheesy wedding video" is fading away as skilled videographers continue to enter the wedding arena. I can't count how many times I've heard people say, "Wedding videos are cheesy", yet those same people will watch wedding TV shows for hours. If a wedding video is bad, it's usually because it was produced by a friend or relative, not a professional. David and Scott (the Roman Studio videographers) have years of broadcast television experience. No cheese here.

Photography can not capture the sound of your voice as you say your vows, nor the laughter your family shares at the reception. Wouldn't you love the chance to see your parents or grandparents wedding? Most of our parents didn't have video available to them, but now you can capture your event for your children and grandchildren. Video is awesome.

If you have wedding photography booked with us (or not) and would like information on adding video, please contact us.

Cora and Michael McDonald: An Irish Wedding

Congratulations to Cora and Michael McDonald of Whittier, married at the Muckenthaler Mansion in Fullerton. It was alot of fun, and immediately after the wedding I caught a red-eye flight to Texas where I produced a video the following day. Let's just say I'm glad that doesn't happen every weekend! And let's just also say that I'm glad the McDonalds' had a fully stocked candy bar at the reception. Nothing like a little sugar to help you through the night!

Real Men Wear Kilts

It's becoming more and more common for couples to give each other gifts on their wedding day. This is the coolest gift I've seen yet. Look at the girl's expression.

Ladies, take note. You want to make your groom happy? Get a blade for your knight in shining armor. Michael McDonald scored. (note: the top 3 photos of this post were taken by my assistant Shawn, who officially rocks).

Cornwell Family Portrait

Here's a family portrait I recently took down at good ol' Laguna Beach. Aren't they just the perfect family? I think so.

Here's an article about our New Years Eve wedding (you know, the one Muhammad Ali was at). Click here.

New Roman Studio Office in Newport Beach

Things have been super busy lately, to say the least. Over the past couple months I've worked in Texas for Samaritan's Purse and in Bolivia on a Child Sponsorship project with New Song Calvary Chapel/Food For The Hungry. In addition to all that, we're expanding with a new office in Newport Beach. Whoo hoo!!!!! Photos coming soon!!!
